MAUI Activities -For those who just can't resist the temptation of being spoiled by VIP check-in, best tables at the luau (1st two rows), preferred side service, and being the first to get to that spectacular buffet table, the Grand Luau at Honua'ula is offering a limited number of "preferred status" seats on every show. Preferred seats are limited and are booked up regularly, so advanced reservations are a must!

The Show: Honua'ula takes us back to a time when the mighty seafaring Polynesians discovered this land of Hawaii, thereafter calling themselves Hawaiian. It touches upon the documented voyages of La'amaikahiki and Moikeha who first came to this sacred island we call Maui, specifically this area named Honua'ula. It speaks of gods and goddesses that watched over these courageous people and how they were able to co-exist and live in harmony.

Pele, the goddess of fire is described as one who came prior to the settlers, paving the way with her lava so there would be land sufficient for the Hawaiian people to live. Lilinoethe goddess of the mist was said to linger above sending cool rains to nourish the lands.

The mermaid of Maui, Kananaka, swooned near the surfers and tried to capture them for fun. The love story legend of Naulu, the goddess of the clouds could only visit her lover Kanaloa upon the clouds.

These stories combined create an exciting evening of traditional chant and hula bringing the history of our island home Maui, to life. Hele Mai, come and enjoy the magical enchantment of Honua'ula.

Hawaiian style music provides a tropical ambiance as you enjoy a breathtaking Maui sunset. As the village comes to life with Hawaiian games, lei making, crafts, and tatoos, you will witness the Hawaii of yesterday.
 

6:00PM

The lighting of the torches and the sound of a conch shell invites you to expierence a luau style buffet, offering a variety of Hawaiian favorites including Saut`eed Island Fish, Imu Baked Kalua Pig, Poi and Taro rolls!
 

7:00PM

The show starts and creates an exciteting evening of traditional chant and hula bringing the history of our island home Maui, to life.
 

8:00PM

The show ends leaving you filled with the magic of the Hawaiian island of Maui.

Really amazing show, and the food was great too. I would highly recommend paying the extra for the premium seats, as you get front row seats for the show and first in line for the buffet!

From the time of the booking, the confirmation the arrival at the luau, the atmoshere, the food the show there was nothing we could fault, well worth the money.A special night one to remember.

The luau show was entertaining. The food was OK. The line up and register procedure was RIDICULOUS! There was absolutely NO reason to have to get in line to register; then wait in line another hour before the time you could actually get into the luau area. THEN there is almost another hour before you are allowed to go through the buffet and THEN almost another hour before the show begins. It is TOO hot to have to wait for all this!

There were a lot of bugs and the drinks were yucky. Dancing was okay. Really enjoyed fire thrower and aerial artist though.

undortunately the luau was cancelled due to the weather. it was our last evening in maui so we were really disappointed. next time we visit we will book it early in the trip in case the weather doesn't co-operate. aloha!

This luau is definitely best experienced from the VIP preferred seats!! You will have amazing views of the hula show and will be first to the huge food buffet table! The show was incredible and even at times funny, the sunset was gorgeous, food and open bar were delicious, and overall experience was two thumbs up! We had an amazing time, can't wait to go again!
