OAHU Activities - See the beauty and splendor of Hawaii's Sharks as they rise from the depths to greet you. This thrilling experience, the first and finest in Hawaii, will profoundly affect your feelings towards Sharks, as you join them three miles out of sea off Oahu's beautiful North Shore.

The Shark, "mano" in Hawaiian, is still central to the culture of the native Hawaiians and is featured in many legends.

You will leave Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor and travel out to sea to view these beautiful creatures. Often on the way you will also view Dolphins, the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, and in the winter months, the famous Humpback Whales. All this, and a breathtaking view on Oahu's North Shore are part of the tour.

Two-hour tours are scheduled throughout the day from 7 a.m. Dive, swim and view sharks from a secure metal cage. Take home video and pictures of your adventure.

The vessels "KAILOLO I" & "KAILOLO II" are moored in slip 35 of the Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor.

Tours are limited to six persons so there is no overcrowding. Safety of our passengers is our first priority. A safety briefing is given at the start of the tour. People may bring their own mask and snorkel, however, fins are not necessary. Masks and snorkels are also provided on the vessel "Kailolo II". "Kailolo" means water crazy. Once we get to the area, the shark cage is placed in the water. The cage floats on the surface of the water. The water is a cobalt blue and visibility is approximately 200 feet or more. You can actually see the sharks come up from the deep.

While on this tour, you will have the opportunity to also see Hawaiian Green Sea turtles, dolphins and humpback whales,depending on the season.

The cage itself, can hold two people very comfortably, however, we have had up to four people in it at a time, depending on the weather conditions. We travel offshore of Haleiwa approximately 3 to 4 miles. People are encouraged to bring underwater cameras because they will be able to get some of the best photographs of Hawaiian sharks possible anywhere.

The size of the sharks range from 5 feet to 15 feet. These sharks will be only inches away from the cage and those inside. You may stay as long as you want in the cage to enjoy the spectacular view.

People from around the World, including England, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and from almost every State in the mainland have enjoyed the tour. Some of the people that come on the tour have not even been in the ocean before. A lot of people come with phobia about sharks. After our tour their inhibitions and phobias disappear and they have a greater respect for the shark and its beauty.

North Shore Shark Adventures have been featured on the BBC Outdoors in England, ESPN Outdoors and soon will be on Canadian Wildlife television. The tour itself includes the boat ride and viewing the sharks from the deck. You may also sign up to enter the cage.

Pick-up Times are:

7 AM (Saturdays and Sundays only) for 8:30 AM Tour;  7:30 AM for 9 AM tour;  9:30 AM for 11 AM Tour;  11:30 AM for 1 PM Tour.  Total time from pick-up to drop-off approximately 5 hours.

Cancellations must be made by calling our concierge lines at 808-214-9283.  We will not accept cancellations via email, voicemail, fax or chatline. You must call at least 48 hours before the event for credit or refund to be applied. Some activities require a longer notice or will not allow cancellations once booking is made (each tour description will show exceptions to the 48 hour rule if applicable). Activities are 100% refunded in the event of your tour being canceled by the Activity Provider for any reason, such as weather, mechanical, etc. Ohana Fun!
